I have a consulting and training background, a Masters (M.S.) and Bachelors (B.A.) in education, and love to play drums. As The Percussion Lady (TPL), I’ve combined my varied interests into hands-on, rhythm-focused music programming for preschoolers through seniors. This also includes teacher workshops, hand drum classes, and corporate and community drum circle events.
I operate my various performing and consulting services under the umbrella of Trencher Educational Consulting (TEC). As part of TEC, I provide the following:
Consulting Services: I can custom design programs to meet your particular needs. These rhythm-focused topics (please also see The Percussion Lady and Alafia page) also fit particularly well within interdisciplinary and experiential curricula. Additionally, I provide custom workshops for educators incorporating rhythm, music, and movement techniques into their lives and classrooms.
Therapeutic Applications: On a one-to-one or small group basis, I can facilitate hands-on, interactive percussion and rhythm sessions that enhance creativity, focus, motor control, and an overall sense of well being. I have provided these services for care centers, Alzheimer's patients, and developmentally disabled individuals.
Organizational Development/Team Building Solutions: The next time you schedule a team building event, why not use rhythm and drumming as the working metaphor for the challenges you wish to face? The playing of rhythms, hand drums, and other percussion work particularly well when focusing on leadership, communication, trust, listening, cooperation, and diversity. If possible, I will supply all the percussion required, although I always encourage participants to bring their own!
